Purpose
The H305 coupling is used for multiple mechanical connections of HDPE pipes and fittings. The H305 fitting is a complete set consisting of a clamp made of ductile iron, a gasket made of EPDM rubber, 4 bolts made of carbon steel, washers and nuts.
The coupling is designed to connect pipes and fittings in ground and underground mine excavations in methane and non-methane fields classified as "a", "b", or "c" degree of methane explosion hazard and class A or B of coal dust explosion hazard, also in shafts and on the surface.
Method of production
The H305 fitting is a complete set consisting of:
The appropriately profiled shape of the clamp makes it easier to run the pipeline through obstacles during its transport.
As standard, it is painted in orange or red. Optionally, it can be additionally protected against corrosion by means of galvanization or epoxy coating.
The EPDM rubber gasket is designed for use with various media in the temperature range from -30 degrees C to 110 degrees C.
It is resistant to most of the liquids and aggressive substances, such as industrial water, mine water, wastewater, slurries, water solutions, brine, acid water, chlorine water, deionized water, sea water, diluted acids, compressed air, inert gases, methane, and many others.
EPM gaskets are not recommended for steam, oil, crude oil, mineral oils, solvents, and aromatic hydrocarbon installations. It is possible to use other gaskets, e.g. nitrile gaskets.
For diameters between DN 16mm and DN 315 mm, the bolts are made of manganese carbon steel, they are electro-galvanized with durable hexagonal nuts. For diameters between DN 355mm and DN 500mm, hexagonal bolts are made of steel carbide, they are nickel-plated with hexagonal nuts. The washers are made of carbon steel.
Properties
A series of sharp-pointed cogs firmly grip the tube as you tighten the bolts. This ensures a tight connection. This method eliminates the need for expensive equipment, for example, for butt welding. A tightly twisted joint allows long lengths of pipe to be pulled from one place to another. By removing a few bolts, you can easily access the system for cleaning, maintenance, adjustments or pipeline expansion.
